Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL) is a NZ musician and producer based in the UK and at the forefront of the global beats, jazz and soul community.
Having been involved with over 150 releases on labels including Masters At Work Records, Verve Records, Impulse Records and collaborating with as diverse a range of artists, MdCL is one of the most innovative producers and live performers you'll find anywhere in the world.
On July 16 Clive deconstructed the art of live electronic beat making by starting with a click track then using a Rhodes electric piano, effects units, MP200 keyboard, KAOS pad and trusty MPC sampler to build an improvised slice of dance floor soul. Students were talked through the creative process with one of the world’s most cutting edge musicians and Mark answered questions throughout the session. Overall it was a great session and a rare opportunity to get so close.
