Manchester born and bred Metz & Trix are established artists within the Urban Asian music scene and are regarded as pioneers of the great MC/Bhangra fusion. Their submersion into the the music industry was already well under way when Metz decided to improve his production skills and came to Manchester Midi School in 2005.
Metz and Trix have done it all. From working alongside labels and street teams to promote artists like Xzibit, Method Man and Destiny's Child, to performing their unique Urban Asian music all around the world. Back in 1997, they were known as the 'Midnight Lick Crew', they were involved in the underground garage scene and went on to win Best DJ Crew at the 1999 Asian Music Awards.
A brief spell as individual artists in 1999 gave them an amazing base to work off. Both albums created achieved Gold Disc Awards for sales in excess of 50,000. 2001 saw the release of their first album 'Danger' with Untouchables UK records. They went on to be chosen, amongst others, to front the Digital launch of the BBC Asian Network in Summer 2002. In November 2003 they were nominated for Best Single and Best MC categories awards by UK AMA. Metz and Trix won the award for Best MC’s and came runners up to Panjabi MC in the best single category and at his request collected the award on his behalf.
Many festival performances have followed including the Love Music Hate Racism festivals and a memorable performance at Glastonbury. Their second album 'Get Ready Get Set' reached No.2 in the Asian Network charts.
Metz & Trix were heavily involved in a young persons road safety campaign called 'Safe & Sound' of which, 90,000 copies were distributed to UK schools, and also won a regional 'Big Chip Award', which was presented by Tony Wilson.
Tours followed with Panjabi Mc around the world from New York, Moscow and Paris across throughout Europe, South Asia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand onto UAE, Bahrain and Dubai. Metz & Trix were amongst the first artists to support the Love Music Hate Racism movement from the earlier days in Rotherham, Nelson and Burnley to the more recent events at Stoke City Football Club and the 100,000 gathering in Victoria Park, London.
Their third album Get Ready Get Set 2 was released with Moviebox Records in December 2008. They toured and promoted the new album nationwide and abroad throughout 2009.
