What is Maschine?
Native Instruments' Maschine is an innovative, versatile, hardware and software hybrid solution for creating and performing music. The software element of Maschine can either run as a stand alone application, or integrate with your favourite DAW. The software can be comprehensively controlled by the hardware element of Maschine, resulting in a much more organic, hands on workflow, often absent from 'in the box' music creation.
Inevitable comparisons with the MPC have been drawn. It takes the MPC's forte - the tactile recording, editing, and sequencing of samples - and adds the power and flexibility of a modern computer based DAW. Maschine ships with a plethora of great-sounding Native Instruments samples, it can also play host to third party virtual Instruments and effects, it can even be used as a straight-up MIDI controller for any MIDI enabled software: In short, it's hugely versatile.
