Who is the Tutor?
Tom Lonsborough - Head of Online Learning
Tom is the head of online learning at the MIDI School. He was invited out to Ableton HQ, Berlin, in 2008, to work with them in developing official training courses, and was one of the first certified Ableton traniners in the UK. He uses Ableton as a DJ , with residencies in Manchester, and as a producer / performer with bands DATG and Flash Atkins.
Aside from this holds weekend classes in Ableton Live, and offers one on one training in Ableton Live, and more generally writing music, performance, DJing, and mixdown.
Can I get advice on kit I'd like to use with Ableton Live before, during, or after the course?
-Feel free to contact Tom with any questions you might have about the course, gear, or any related topic, at any time on tom@midischool.com. He's a geek - he'd love to help you out!
Does it matter whether I use Mac or PC?
-No, Ableton Live works in exactly the same way on either platform. There are very subtle differences in the layout of the menu screens, and the keyboard shortcuts, but this is addressed in the both course videos and also the written notes.
Can I still complete the course if English is not my first language?
-By all means! Providing you can understand our tutor, Tom, in the videos on this page, then you will not have a problem following the course material. At various stages of the video tutorials, key points are also reinforced by bullet point text boxes. Our written support material is also delivered in English.
Ableton have a great FAQ section on their web site, of course we are here to help, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about Ableton Live ,The Online Ableton Live Course or simply want advice on our online music courses.
