This beginner DJ course requires no previous mixing ability. The aim of the day is getting started on the decks and learning effective mixing techniques.
The formula for the success of our weekend DJ courses is the personal nature of our in-studio tuition, with groups of 8 or less learning the creative operation of DJ equipment through practical tuition and interaction.
The programme is also for entry level DJs seeking to learn key skills and/or polish up existing skills. Students learn on all the major turntable brands housed alongside the latest Pioneer units. A selection of effects units and samplers are also on hand to encourage the creative manipulation of sound.
MMS DJ Tutor, Mark One has an impressive record. Early in his career, he became a Northwest DMC champion, and co-produced several radio shows on pirate and commercial stations during this time. Since then, he has DJ'd alongside some of the biggest names in the business including Grandmaster Flash, James Lavelle, Fat Boy Slim, Freestylers, Goldie and The Scratch Perverts. He was the support DJ for Madonna at Brixton Academy, and is the personal DJ for Stella McCartney's fashion shows. He has toured the world as the scratch DJ with the band Texas, and has had several festival and television appearances as a result. He currently holds several residencies in clubs around Manchester.
