The MMS Music Business Course sets a new standard in preparing for a career in the music industry. It is a response to the constantly changing landscape of the music business and provides a knowledge base and skill set relevant to the next generation of aspiring music industry professionals.
The Music Business Course has been created to facilitate the transition between learning and becoming an industry professional and will help to develop your skills in preparation for self employment, setting up your own company, or working with others and opening up careers in music.
“Wouldn’t it be great if we could spend all of our time being creative, making music, and get paid loads of money for it?“
Sadly, but for a privileged few, this is not very realistic. In order to make a living out of the music industry there are other things that aren’t as sexy but nevertheless they must be taken care of.
The Music Business Course deals with those things.
So if you are serious about working in the music industry our Music Business Course will provide you with essential knowledge and techniques to help you monetise your skills.
In order for the Music Business Course to be the most relevant and unique in this subject area MMS have recruited industry professional Tony Rigg to develop and deliver the course.
Tony has been working in music related activities for the last 20 years.
He is the former Operations Director of Ministry of Sound/ Hed Kandi, (world’s biggest independent record label/ most famous club and dance music brand), has employed literally 1,000’s of DJ’s, overseen the management of 80 clubs, venues, and bars in the UK (from 300 to 3,000 capacity), overseen the delivery hundreds of concert level music events, has been an artist/ producer with tracks featured on chart topping albums, reached number 1 in the Club Chart, currently owns and operates The Laboratory Project record label, also works as a business consultant for established music brands, is a musicologist and has a Music Business PhD underway.
