Mark Wilkinson is a successful DJ, promoter and producer who been has been part of house music’s development since the heady days of 1988.

His production career as Problem Kids and Dab Hands has scored a top 10 hit with his remix of Lou Reed’s Satellite of Love, had releases on legendary labels like Defected, PAPERecordings, Azuli and Junior Boys Own and launched his own Kidsound label.

As a DJ he has played in over 65 countries and continues to run the club night Kidology which is about putting the “party” feeling back in to clubland. Summer 2010 will see the club presenting “Republik” every Tuesday at El Divino and continuing put parties on all over the world.

Mark is currently running a series of marathons with the aim on raising £1,000,000 for charity. He is a truly inspirational guest and will be letting students in on what it takes to make it in today’s music industry as well as answering questions.

One of the most exciting Dj / producers in the world is back at the Midi School in Februar!

With his Kiddstock Festival, touring of the world and burgeoning production career, Alex Kidd is at the top of his game and will be sharing his knowledge with the Midi school students.

Alex is one of a few UK based DJ´s that supports a European Hard Trance & Hard style sound. His storming sets also incorporate a mash-up of Techno & Hard Dance, creating many surprise elements to his performances and all shot through with his uncontainable personality behind the decks!

Just a little info for you about the night which i am involved in titled, ''MEANDYOU''...
We've been running since last August now and focus on the more sophisticated side of electronic music for the dancefloor.  The first 'season', as we termed it, consisted of five parties spanning deep house, dub house/techno, detroit techno and dubstep, with artists hailing from Austria, America, Germany, UK, and Holland. ''Season 2'' is currently underway, with the same ethos in mind.
The musical style is quite broad, but the concept remains steady... cutting edge shit that is few and far between, even in a city the size of Manchester.
We have three extremely on-point promoters and a team of three forward-thinking residents including myself, Joseph and Arnaldo, that ensure each party brings a fresh sound to our attendees and also a bit of nostalgia too. The team follow the depths of the scene closely and are involved in the industry, and so are able to ensure upcoming quality in terms of bookings and deliver something new and educational to our growing crowd each time.
The venue we currently use is called bookbinders on Minshull Street and is situated just off Picadilly gardens behind the Britannia Hotel.
We run the parties monthly and you can find the artist details and links to the Myspace page below, as well as that, please check out pics and strong reviews of our parties through the provided Resident advisor link.
Also look out for our special 'one-off' event for Manchesters' Futuresonic festival, which the event organisers have kindly offered us funding to do a larger capacity party for.
The lineup will bring Tobias, Efdemin, and Move D to the city to showcase the most forward-thinking side of the deep house sound.
Elsewhere i just played a 2 hour set in Leeds on Sat March 21st with Substance and Vainquer.
Studiowise, look out for my forthcoming productions with Reuben Holt under the ''precog'' alias including a remix for techno producer Kevin Gorman for his Mikrowave imprint and an e.p for the famous paperecordings label, which after some time ''off the books'' is gladly relaunching again.
