Our Staff are leading practitioners from the music industry with a wealth of experience on the cutting edge of music technology and recording.
They continue to work in the Industry and recent credits include engineering, production and song writing for The Fall, Hard Fi, Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal, Kelis, Plan B and Natasha Bedingfield, making music for labels International Deejay Gigolo, Ministry of Sound, Warner Brothers, Metalheadz, paperecordings and Skint, Djing in Fabric, Sankeys Soap and The Electric Chair plus remixes for Destiny’s Child, The Streets, Kosheen and Gabrielle.

Simon 'Dingo' Archer
In addition to running his own studio ‘6Db', he is a musician playing bass, guitar and keys. During a recent sabbatical Simon was the bassist on the PJ Harvey World Tour, taking in Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage and recording one of the last ‘Peel Sessions’ for Radio One. He has toured and produced music with the Fall and Frank Black (The Pixies) and was in-house engineer at Manchester’s Cutting Rooms, notching up over fifteen years freelance engineering and teaching experience - undertaking work for Sony, MCA, Sky, the BBC and various independent record labels. He recently founded the MacPac (Pro- Audio Consultants) and can be seen in the 24 Hour Party People film (if you look closely!)

Christophe Bride
Christophe has worked on remixes for Skunk Anansie, Erasure, Placebo and Curve, as well as recording Mercury Music Prize winning band 'Hard Fi'.
His credits on the Manchester circuit are second to none...Kid British who are doing big things after signing to Universal enlisted Christophe to record, engineer and produce their massive debut album.
Importantly for our students, he has worked on a broad spectrum of music styles, engineering indie bands Northern Uproar and Sonic Boom 6’s debut albums, producing hip-hop (Wycliffe Jean and Tommy Boy remixes) on DMC, and writing progressive / trance with Blue Amazon. A couple of tracks he did with Six 10 Repeater were licensed for the Pro Evo Soccer game.
His current dance pseudonym, Forbidden Planet, are signed in the U.K and U.S. Aside from developing new artists, he records with 80s legends Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Kirk Brandon (Spear of Destiny) and New Model Army.

Over the past five years Matt Thomas’ King Unique’s records, remixes and re-edits have hit home with house-heads, nu-ravers and electro-rockers alike, being championed by everyone from Sasha to Soulwax, Danny Howells to Tiesto, and Pete Tong to Zane Lowe.
Self confessed studio Junkie Matt Thomas has joined the Manchester Midi School as resident guest lecturer. He will be sharing his knowledge of synthesis, programming and studio technique plus all things in between over a series of lectures.

As a DJ Producer Jonny Miller has played clubs all over the World, as well promoting numerous club nights and releasing records. He has worked in most music genres and is currently signed as an artist and remixer to Phuture Lounge and Sidestepper Recordings (Joshua Black). His DubSpot club in Manchester leads the way in Dubstep and Future Music.

Danielle Moore
They have remixed and recorded some of the best recent dance floor moments for labels like 20 : 20 Vision and paperecordings with Danielle leading the way with her vocals and magnetic stage presence.
Danielle offers one-to-one coaching for vocals and performance.
Ben Davis - Music Industry Consultant
These days Ben has re-launched Paperecordings on-line, started a new label We Are Woodville, continues to DJ and runs his own production company, Flash Studios. He records as The Bionics and Flash Atkins, who can be found at the cutting edge of deep and unpredictable dance music.

Mark One
Not only North-West DMC Mixing Champion many times over, but a full time member of the band Texas, and a remix producer. Mark has played alongside Grandmaster Flash, Fat Boy Slim and Goldie, supported Madonna at Brixton Academy, and is Stella McCartney’s DJ of choice for her catwalk shows.
As the Texas scratch DJ he has toured the arenas of the world and appeared on Top of the Pops, Jools Holland, The Brit Awards, Glastonbury and Cannes Film Festival.
Mark also produces and remixes and is currently signed to AV8 Records (Armand Van Helden, Lumidee, Fatman Scoop) in NYC. He has applied his studio skills to Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Beyonce, Lily Allen, Dr Dre, Eminem, Destiny’s Child and countless others.

Kevin Gorman
Kevin Gorman is an established name in the Techno / Minimal scene worldwide. His own Mikrowave label has done releases for Agaric, Patrik Skoog, Marc Ashken, Alex Under, Mark Broom, Tadeo and Phil Kieran.
Kevin is signed to International Deejay Gigolo, a label run by Techno legend DJ Hell. His debut album was 'Chemistry Lock' came out in 2007. He has also had releases on the CMYK label, run by Alex Under. The Kevin Gorman remix portfolio is growing with mixes for Brighton's infamous Skint Records and the 1991 Outlander classic 'Vamp'.
As a DJ, Kevin now plays with his Ableton and MIDI setup. He has recently played at Fabric, Rex club (Paris), Sonar (Barcelona) and The Watergate (Berlin)

Tom Lonsborough
A former student of the M.M.S Diploma Course, Tom was invited out to Berlin, the home of Ableton Live HQ, to work with them in developing official training courses. He is one of the first certified Ableton traniners in the UK and uses Ableton as a DJ , with residencies in Manchester, and as a producer / performer for Electro band Dieter and the Gadabouts.

Dan Mumberson - Technical Support
A former student of the M.M.S Diploma Course, Dan has since worked as an engineer in Manchester recording studios, and now owns his own studio and underground techno night ‘MeandYou’. Aside from the Midi School, this is where Dan channels all of his knowledge and energy making forward thinking Electronica, Detroit-influenced House and minimal Techno... music for the head as well as the dancefloor. He has signed to the Hacienda DJ Agency and recently supported Richie Hawtin at the Warehouse Project.
